Recently, the Victorville Daily Press, a regional news outlet in California, reported that a juvenile detention facility in the area offered\u00a0<a class=\"dnautolink\" href=\"https:\/\/masteringanger.com\/staging\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">anger management classes<\/a>\u00a0to violent offenders to promote their growth and reduce their risk of repeating certain mistakes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Juvenile hall isn&#8217;t about being detained,&#8221; probation correction officer Darrell Warren &#8211; a staff member at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center &#8211; told the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vvdailypress.com\/news\/help-39350-juvenile-manage.html\">source<\/a>. &#8220;We offer many different programs &#8211; it&#8217;s not all about detaining the kids, but about helping them also.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Known as the Anger Replacement Therapy (ART) program, this collection of courses is intended to &#8220;teach [juvenile offenders] skills that most people are trained to have, but many of these kids are not,&#8221; said Terrence Westbrook, another probation officer who teaches\u00a0<a class=\"dnautolink\" href=\"https:\/\/masteringanger.com\/staging\/TeenProgram.aspx\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">teen anger management<\/a>\u00a0classes at the facility.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Since they began offering these programs, the administrators at the center say that the violence among residents has fallen by as much as 70 to 80 percent.
