While even the most level-headed individuals may admit to experiencing “road rage” at some point\u00a0– perhaps due the the irresponsible actions of another\u00a0driver during a lengthy bumper-to-bumper commute – for some people, this initial irritation can translate into verbal and physical abuse. Such was this case last July, when three men were caught on tape as they repeatedly kicked another motorist as he lay on the ground on the side of a Los Angeles highway.<\/p>\n

“I made a simple driving mistake and cut them off unintentionally, and it just escalated from there,” Jerry Patterson, the victim of the attack, told the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles shortly after it occurred.<\/p>\n

Two of the individuals involved came forward after footage of the incident – which was captured by a rider in a passing vehicle – was posted on YouTube and began circulating among regional media outlets. The men in question – 21-year-old David Mendez and 27-year-old Edras Ramirez – were clearly identifiable in the video, the source states.<\/p>\n

Now, the accused men – who pled no contest to charges of assault – have been officially sentenced.\u00a0The Associated Press<\/a>\u00a0reports that Mendez and Ramirez both must complete 36 hours of court-ordered\u00a0anger management classes<\/a>, 45 days of freeway cleanup and three years of probation.<\/p>\n
