It’s only natural – and even expected – for teenagers to have a temper tantrum here and there, overreacting to a simple request to eat dinner as a family or slamming their bedroom door shut within minutes of entering the house. As such, it can be difficult for any parent to determine whether their child is just acting out, or if they could benefit from\u00a0teen anger management<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last month, a judge in Spain ruled the latter in a case involving a 17-year-old boy who threw a knife at his girlfriend while the pair were making toast. According to\u00a0United Press International<\/a>, the boy grew frustrated after his 16-year-old partner asked him for apricot jam multiple times, and finally sent the blade hurtling in her direction. The girl experienced minor bruising, but was otherwise unharmed, the source indicated. However, she reportedly told police officers that this incident “was part of a pattern of aggressive behavior” toward her.<\/p>\n

The accused, whose name was not made public because of his age, was ordered to complete teen\u00a0anger management classes<\/a>\u00a0and serve one year of probation. The news outlet indicated that he lives with his girlfriend and her mother, but it is unclear if that arrangement will be affected by the charges.<\/p>\n
