According to local news publication The Tampa Bay Times, on March 4 at approximately 5 p.m., a group of teens were playing a game when one of them ended up on Mark Parco&#8217;s property. Although the young man ran away, Parco chased after him, running down a hill in Port Richey before encountering the whole group. The source reports that Parco\u00a0yelled at the gang, telling them to stay off his property, prompting the kids to respond by yelling back to leave them alone.<\/p>\n<p>One of the 15-year-old boys testified that Parco approached the group, while the older man insists he was the one being threatened.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1376800869794_156319\">&#8220;With all of them surrounding me I figured they were going to jump on me,&#8221; Parco told the courtroom. &#8220;If he&#8217;s close enough for me to push he&#8217;s in my personal space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1376800869794_156321\">Parco pushed one boy, causing the teen to retaliate by punching back. When another teen jumped on Parco&#8217;s back, the 40-year-old man responded by grabbing the young man&#8217;s genitals and not letting go for a minute. When prosecutors asked Parco how this was supposed to be an act of self-defense, he answered that it was instantaneous and he was only &#8220;do[ing] what I have to do to survive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1376800869794_156323\">The jury found Parco guilty of misdemeanor battery after determining\u00a0he was the aggressor.
